When the original SL65 AMG Black series was introduced in 2009 the car came – to many as a surprise - without the convertible option. True Exotic put the convertible option back in and has commissioned a conversion of a regular SL65 AMG into a Black Series with all the original parts.

The outcome is spectacular:
Power comes from the same twin-turbo 6.0-liter V-12 engine as the regular SL65, but instead of 604 horsepower, the Black Series has 661 horses with 738 pound-feet of torque. The extra oomph comes courtesy of new, larger turbochargers, revised intake ducting, and a new exhaust system. There’s also a new intercooler that reduces intake charge temperatures by 30 percent.

The car will cover the 0-to-62-mph sprint in 3.8 seconds and with the huge amount of torque the SL 65 is superfast but still has a very enjoyable ride. Top speed is electronically limited to 320 km/h—just shy of 199 mph. This is the crown jewel of all the Mercedes SL.
